From middle school, high school, club, and later coaching, Mark Wilkie loved the sport of Volleyball.
Competitive, skilled, and most certainly wanting the win, it was actually ~ more than anything ~ Mark’s character that shone through during all his years of volleyball.
He took pride in being first to the gym and always took time to engage and encourage both seasoned & developing players ~ with either subtle pats on the back or loud whoops of “Let’s Go!” His genuine support of each and every team member shone through both on and off the court.
Mark’s life may have been shorter than most, but he lived and loved it fully while he was here.
His smile, enthusiasm, positivity, encouragement and hard work, both within this sport community, and within the larger world, will never be forgotten.

We are so grateful to Horton Coaches for making this Memorial Tournament bearing his name come to fruition.

We had two tables with volleyball rocks set up and all of them were distributed by the end of the tournament. We made sure we painted all the teams colours.

Horton played well and we cheered loudly for them.

We set up a Coaches Lounge and provided free hot meals and snacks on both days. Mark played for various teams throughout his volleyball career and he had some amazing coaches who gave their time. We were always so thankful for them.

The winners of the tournament were Bay View High School. Congratulations! They all took home tournament t-shirts along with their hardware.
